Why Does Vegetable Oil Become Turbid?
Time:Tue-11-21 hits:
There are two reasons why vegetable oil becomes turbid:
1. Temperature
Low temperature will cause a physical change of edible oil from liquid to solid. At a certain low temperature, the liquid state of edible vegetable oil gradually changes from clear and transparent to hazy, and the precipitate gradually appears in a solid-liquid mixed state, and finally turns into a solid state. The popular term is freezing (similar to the phenomenon of water freezing).
The physical change of vegetable oil due to temperature does not affect the quality of the product. The solid matter in vegetable oil is saturated fat and does not need to be removed. After the vegetable oil is solidified, it is still triglyceride without any chemical changes. It will still become clear after the temperature rises. Transparent state.
2. The vegetable oil itself is turbid
The vegetable oil itself is very turbid in its liquid form and is probably not refined. The refining of edible oil is itself a process of removing impurities. Unrefined vegetable oil, in addition to being turbid, may also contain certain substances harmful to the human body, and the shelf life of vegetable oil will be very short.
