About The Selection And Storage Of Peanut Oil
Time:Mon-12-21 hits:
Any food is the best to be consumed within the best shelf life, because eating expired food will threaten our health and may also cause harm.
However, if the shelf life has passed in a short period of time and the oil quality has not changed significantly, peanut oil is still edible, not absolutely inedible.
But if peanut oil has expired too long, more than three months, it is recommended not to eat it.
When peanut oil appears turbid, precipitated and has an unpleasant taste, remember not to consume it.
How to choose peanut oil?
1. Look at the production date and shelf life.
The shelf life of peanut oil is generally 12 to 18 months.
2. Look at the color.
Generally speaking, peanut oil is divided into raw and cooked squeezed.
The color of raw squeezed peanut oil is generally pale orange-yellow.
The ripe squeezed peanut oil is dark orange-yellow, both of which are fresh and transparent.
3. Look at the oil.
Get the bottled peanut oil, first look for sediment or suspended matter, then shake it vigorously to observe whether the foam is thick and white, if the viscosity is large, the foam is large, the color is white, and the bubbles slowly disappear , It is excellent.
4. Smell the smell.
A good peanut oil emits a peanut unique fragrance without any other peculiar smell.
5. Pure peanut oil generally condenses and does not flow when the temperature is below 3℃. If it is mixed with lard or palm tung oil, it starts to condense and does not flow when the temperature is 10℃.
How to extend the shelf life of peanut oil:
1. Choose the storage container of peanut oil reasonably.
When there is a lot of oil, you can choose a ceramic cylinder to minimize the diameter of the container; when there is little oil, you can choose a dark glass bottle that does not transmit light.
After the oil is full, the mouth of the bottle should be sealed to isolate the oil from the air to prevent the edible oil from oxidizing and deteriorating.
2. The storage container should be placed in a cool, dark, dry and low temperature place.
3. Avoid high temperature when storing peanut oil.
The best storage temperature is 10°C---15°C, and generally should not exceed 25°C. Therefore, it is not suitable for storage in summer.
In addition, it should be noted that the edible oil should not be mixed with water, otherwise it will easily emulsify the oil and become turbid and deteriorate.
